About
Urban Coalhouse is a pizza and bar restaurant that cooks its menu in a coal-fired oven. The Brick location serves pizzas, appetizers, dinner plates, craft beer, cocktails and sangria, and also offers catering and private events.
Urban Coalhouse operates three restaurants, in Hoboken, Red Bank and Brick. The Brick location has free parking and a private party room, and holds trivia on Thursday nights from 7 to 9 p.m. Posted hours there are 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday, with the bar open until 11 p.m., and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday.
Beyond the pizzas, the coal oven is also used to roast the wings, and mussels appear both as an appetizer and as a pasta entrée. The restaurant publishes separate lunch, drinks and seasonal menus and has run limited menus such as a steak frites menu and an Oktoberfest menu; its brunch menu is offered only in Hoboken. On Mondays from 4 p.m. to close, mussel appetizers are listed at $12 and mussel pasta at $18 for dine-in, prepared fra diavolo or in white wine, and the site notes that specials can change on holidays and event days. The tap list is updated weekly, and the bar also serves red and white wine and house cocktails.
Catering is ordered through the Family Meal platform from a dedicated catering menu, with a contact form for questions. Everyday takeout is ordered online, gift cards are sold through Square, branded merchandise is available, and reservations and party requests are made through the website.
