About
Nick Catone MMA & Fitness is a training center at 781 Brick Boulevard in Brick. The facility lists classes in boxing, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, Muay Thai kickboxing and MMA, plus a kids program and private training. The site describes large mat space, a boxing ring, heavy bags and octagons on the training floor.
The gym opened on September 18, 2010, in a 3,200-square-foot space and expanded twice before Nick Catone bought its current building in December 2017. The new facility opened on September 8, 2018, and is named the Nicholas Scott Catone Training Center in memory of his son. It covers about 31,300 square feet, including a 4,000-square-foot cardio and weight area, roughly 8,000 square feet of mats, an 18-foot boxing ring, more than 40 heavy bags and two 30-foot octagons. The site identifies it as a Ricardo Almeida / Renzo Gracie affiliate.
The kids program is open to ages 4 to 13 and runs six days a week. Its core class is kids jiu-jitsu, taught through age-specific drills, games and scenario training that stress balance, leverage and walking away from conflict when possible; students earn stripes and belts as they progress. Enrollment also includes kids kickboxing twice a week, using punch mitts, noodles, heavy bags and Thai pads, and a kids judo class covering throws, sweeps and lifts.
Adult options listed on the about page add cardio kickboxing to the boxing, jiu-jitsu, Muay Thai and MMA classes. The gym is open 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. Monday and Wednesday, 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday, 4:30 to 7 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, and closed Sunday. No membership prices are posted; trial classes are booked online, by phone or by email.
