About
Epstein's Meats is a family-owned, full-service butcher shop in Lakewood that says it has been serving customers since 1964. It sells cuts of beef made to order and prepared takeout food, and takes catering orders. Delivery is available on weekdays.
The shop at 391 Monmouth Avenue was started by Reb Shimon Yehuda Epstein, and the website says his son now runs it. Its online product list is organized into beef, veal, lamb, poultry and deli. On the beef side are items such as first cut brisket, flanken, hanger and skirt steak, London broil, short ribs, standing rib roast and pickled corned beef. The veal section includes osso bucco, sweetbreads and first cut chops; lamb runs from baby lamb chops and frenched racks to lamb sliders and roasted zeroah; poultry covers everything from Cornish hens and duck legs to spatchcock chicken and breaded schnitzel.
The deli counter lists house-made roast beef, several pastramis (including the shop's own sliced pastrami and a veal pastrami), smoked turkey breast, tongue, and deli ends for salads. A separate takeout menu is posted as a PDF, and meat boards are sold through a sister site.
Orders can be placed in the store or online, and also by phone, text or WhatsApp at 732-370-3443 or by email. The site lists hours of 9 AM to 6 PM Sunday through Wednesday, an early close of 2 PM on Fridays, and no Saturday hours; the Thursday closing time shown on the site is unclear, so calling ahead is sensible. Weekday delivery is free on orders over $100, with a listed $7 charge below that amount. Catering requests go through the contact page.
